Opportunity Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists within our Operations team for a professional with a focus on new product sourcing and supply chain management in critical technology areas like ASICs, RF, and signal delivery.
The Supply Base Management Sourcing Director will be a key member of the SBM group with direct responsibility for leading the SBM team supplier selection during the development process and solving supply chain issues. This role will lead the team driving the supplier selection process, drive supplier-related initiatives including large scale cost down projects, lead qualification and on-going assessment of the supply base as well as focus on the strategic approach to commodity and supplier issues. This position will identify, develop, and maintain technical and strategic relationships with key suppliers and leaders in our NPI and Engineering organizations. The role will also drive mitigation and resolution of potential conflicts and critical issues such as technology selection, timelines, deadlines, budgets, and ECN’s.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Lead the component and supplier selection process for new products in key technology spaces like ASICs, signal delivery, and RF.

Provide leadership and coordination in the management of supply base during the new product development process.

Drive large scale cost reduction initiatives and make versus buy decisions.

Establish business models, maintain contractual requirements and foster relationships with critical suppliers.

Develop and execute negotiation strategies.

Manage a portfolio of critical suppliers.

Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the ASIC, signal delivery, and RF supply chain.

Develop an understanding of critical commodities and the associated market conditions, industry trends, processes, suppliers, cost drivers, etc for definition and documentation of sourcing strategy and establishment of performance goals.

Provide strategic leadership and management of suppliers to achieve best in class performance.

In conjunction with Engineering, select and develop suppliers that provide critical technologies required for our new products.

Develop relationships with key suppliers with the goal of delivering best in class performance.

Establish goals and performance expectations with supply base. Write and award contracts where applicable to document agreements with suppliers.

Work with supply base to establish ability support all aspects of business for Teradyne and Teradyne Customer global locations.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and manage risks associated with sourcing and supply chain disruptions.

A BS in Electrical Engineering is required for this position

Experience in ASICS is required, experience in RF signal delivery and mmWave technologies a plus.

Strong understanding of ASIC design and manufacturing processes including experience with managing the ASIC supply chain, especially IP block integration within our ASIC designs.

10+ years of Sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations and supplier selection/management

Experience in purchase of technical commodities and implementation of best practices

Working Knowledge of ERP systems preferred

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills

Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills

Travel is required and can vary from 5-15% per year
