Opportunity Overview
Seeking a Junior Level Test Engineer to fill an opportunity in the New Products Introduction Pilot Line department with a primary focus on supporting the Silicon Photonics market. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves to be in a dynamic environment, spends a lot of time in a lab and collaborates in a cross functional team (previous experience as a Test Engineer is a plus). The ideal candidate will add experience in Automated Test Equipment manufacturing for next-generation semi-test instrumentation within the silicon photonics space and at the same time will lead the internal NPI operation, from planning, execution to transfer.
The main goal of the Pilot Line is to enable a smooth transition of new products from development to volume production, working as an equal partner with the NPI and Engineering Teams. This includes but is not limited to: supporting early shipment needs, identifying quality and stability issues, driving fault down, providing training, and enabling the factory to ramp.
- Debug complex semiconductor test equipment from the system level down to the component level.
- Investigate and resolve Pilot Production test issues and defect analysis.
- Integrate, validate and execute test at module and System level of Optical and other cutting-edge technologies.
- Analyze test log files.
- Generate and present reports showing detailed test information.
- Drive Failure Analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action.
- Ability to problem solve through creative and analytical thinking.
- Perform SW qualification plans and report bugs that could impact performance.
- Lead Contract Manufacturer and Repair Center transfer readiness plan.
- Train and support test engineers and technicians overseas on test execution and debug tools to facilitate production ramp-up.

- BS or MS Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology/Optical or a related field
- 1 to 3 Years as a Test Engineer working in semi-test, Optical or similar industry
- A thorough understanding of basic analog, digital, and RF circuits is required.
- Great attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and experience with signal generators, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Test script knowledge.
- Excellent written and presentation skills are required.
- Ability to work independently on time-bound projects.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader
- The position requires working on-site and commuting to our North Reading, MA facility
- Knowledge of both analog and digital circuits and experience with component-level debugging of PCB assemblies.
- Understanding BOMs, Revision controls, ECNs.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, 5S practices, Quality Control problem-solving tools, and PCBA manufacturing problems is a plus.
- Understanding of Optical or RF test and measurement techniques and hands-on lab experience.
- Laser Physics and Safety: Understanding the principles of laser operation, including emission, absorption, and scattering, while implementing safety protocols to protect against laser hazards.
