Opportunity Overview
- Manage Teradyne mechanical engineers at two contract manufacturer (CM) sites in Penang producing Teradyne products.
- Assign JIRA case work and ensure timely completion with high quality.
- Support Teradyne and CM Operations teams to rapidly resolve production issues throughout the factories.
- Engage US and Costa Rica continuous engineering teams as required.
- Perform analysis and drive projects to improve factory yield and PIP performance.
- Review manufacturing procedures regularly and update as required.
- Ensure CM compliance to Teradyne procedures.
- Optimize production and operations with the CM teams.
- Develop a world-class team through training and work assignments.
- Review and approve deviations and ECNs as required.
All About You
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a mechanical/manufacturing engineer and 5+ years of experience working with a contract manufacturer (can be concurrent with other experience).
- At least 1+ years in managerial role with at least 3 subordinates.
- Some management training preferred.
- Working knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, design for manufacturing (DFM)
- Working knowledge of GD&T and related drawing standards
- Working knowledge of IEC standards for cable and wire manufacturing
- Working knowledge of SMT fabrication methods and processes
- Experience auditing suppliers with an eye towards working together to improve
- Ability to handle conditions in a rapidly changing environment and stay focused on key metrics.
- Ability to develop and coach talented engineers and a highly skilled technical team.
- Ability to resolve issues across all areas of a CM’s operation.
- Strong product and process quality focus & desire to learn.
- Willing to travel locally and internationally to suppliers’ sites.
