Opportunity Overview
Teradyne’s Defense & Aerospace business unit is hiring a Senior Strategic Account Manager to lead growth across some of our most important Government customers: the U.S. Navy (NAVSEA depots) and a major U.S. Prime Contractor. These are long-standing substantial accounts and even more room for growth.
This role is about more than managing accounts it is about creating opportunity. You will dive deep to uncover the real challenges customers face, then bring Teradyne’s unique capabilities forward in ways that make us the only reasonable choice to meet mission-critical needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi-year account strategies and annual forecasts aligned to Navy/Prime roadmaps and Teradyne growth objectives.
- Drive consultative, capture-driven selling that uncovers problems and shapes solutions — positioning Teradyne as the trusted and logical partner.
- Navigate the complexities of DoD funding cycles, colors of money, procurement strategies, and multi-year purchase and support agreements to help customers secure and accelerate funding.
- Lead account strategies for major programs, coordinating solutions and statements of work across engineering, marketing, and senior leadership to deliver technical approaches that satisfy customer mission needs while aligning with Teradyne’s business objectives, pricing models, and budget realities.
- Build durable, trust-based relationships at all levels of the organization — from depot engineers to executive sponsors — maintaining a “three wide and three deep” engagement model.
- Partner internally with Marketing, Program Management, Operations, Service, Finance, and Contracts/Legal to orchestrate proposals that are complete, compelling, and embraced by our customers — including leading senior management reviews and securing support for complex proposals that commit company resources.
- Once awarded, stay engaged through delivery: support Program Management and Solutions Engineering teams during PDRs, CDRs, and Technical Interchange Meetings, maintaining executive and customer relationships to ensure smooth progress and issue resolution.
- Maintain disciplined sales funnel development in Salesforce: able to find, prioritize, develop, and close opportunities with a mid-term outlook, while giving detailed attention to the rolling four quarters.
- Lead and sustain a focused team effort across Teradyne, ensuring strong integration of resources aligned with account strategy.
