Opportunity Overview
At Quantifi Photonics, we’re pushing the boundaries of optical technology, delivering cutting-edge solutions for global customers. We’re looking for a highly skilled Photonic Design Engineer to lead and contribute to the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of our photonics hardware and systems. In this role, you will act as a key technical leader, collaborating closely across Engineering, NPI, and customer-facing teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and manufacturability.
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of advanced photonics hardware that meets performance, cost, and schedule goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, NPI, Sales & Marketing) to ensure product specifications align with customer needs and internal capabilities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and participate in early-stage specification development with Technical Sales and senior engineering teams.
- Analyse product performance data to identify and implement design and specification improvements that enhance reliability, usability, and calibration processes.
- Develop calibration methods, tools, and training materials in collaboration with the NPI team to ensure scalable and repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Create and execute Design Validation Plans to verify product performance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Continuously improve validation and calibration processes through data analysis, simulation, and proactive problem-solving.

Essential:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in photonics hardware design and development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
- Experience developing validation and calibration processes for optical or photonics systems.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools and processes.
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles.
- Proficiency with optical simulation tools and automation scripting.
