Opportunity Overview

 

This Factory Applications position will play a senior technical leadership role within the Memory Test Division. In this position, you will lead high‑impact customer engagements, drive technical strategy, and serve as a primary interface between our customers, factory engineering teams, and product development groups. You will guide and support customers on the introduction of next‑generation memory devices into production and influence the evolution of the Nextest test platform.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex customer engagements, technical escalations, and device bring‑up efforts for advanced memory technologies.
  • Develop high‑quality test program methodologies, characterization flows, and correlation strategies for next‑generation Flash and DRAM devices.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management to influence tester hardware and software roadmaps based on customer needs.
  • Build technical demonstrations, documentation, and enablement content that support pre‑ and post‑sales initiatives.
  • Support cross‑functional alignment on feature requirements, system validation, and deployment strategies.
  • Partner with global customers as a trusted technical advisor during evaluation, ramp, and mass‑production deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and elevate engineering best practices across the organization.
  • Ensure timely resolution of critical issues through root‑cause analysis, solution development, and scalable corrective actions.

Required Education & Experience

  • BSEE or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 20+ years in memory semiconductor ATE engineering
  • Extensive experience with Flash and high‑speed DRAM test program development, debug, and correlation
  • Deep understanding of wafer sort and final test methodologies

 

Required Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in C/C++ programming
  • Strong hardware/software debug capability
  • Hands‑on experience with high‑volume manufacturing test flows

 

Preferred Technical Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Nextest Magnum and/or Advantest memory test platforms
  • High‑speed serial interface testing experience
  • Background in emerging memory technologies
  • Experience supporting global customers and managing complex technical escalations
  • Prior involvement in technical sales, pre‑sales, or platform evaluations

  • Analytical thinking and independent problem‑solving
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Demonstrated mentoring and knowledge‑sharing with peers and junior engineers

Other Requirements

  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required, sometimes with short notice

 

 

 

We are only considering candidates local to San Jose, CA and are unable to provide relocation for this position

 

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

 

Compensation: 
The base salary range for this role is $198,300 to 317,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.  

 

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
