Opportunity Overview

The Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and driven Field Application Engineer (RF, SiPho) who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and deploy test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, System on Chip (SoC), Mixed-Signal, Analog, RF, and Silicon Photonics semiconductor devices.
• Develop test program software in a collaborative engineering environment.
• Review load board and probe card schematics and layouts for test solution implementation.
• Analyze technical problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to optimize customer throughput.
• Collaborate with customer test engineering teams to understand and improve test processes.
• Recommend improvements to enhance quality and test coverage.
• Support production release of test solutions, including handler and prober integration, correlation, and Gauge R&R activities.
• Discover customer requirements and develop conceptual hardware, software, and test cell integration solutions.
• Provide electrical, mechanical, PCB, and interface hardware design guidance and requirements.
• Develop innovative techniques and methodologies for semiconductor device characterization and testing.
• Demonstrate tester capabilities during customer evaluations.
• Assist customers with tester operation, applications, and capabilities.
• Deliver customer training, technical exchanges, and technical presentations.
• Build strong technical relationships with customers to understand future needs and technology direction.
• Maintain awareness of ATE industry trends, competitive products, and product positioning.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6 to10 years of semiconductor test industry experience with hands-on IC component test development experience.
• Test and Product Engineering experience in RF testing.
• Demonstrated experience developing test solutions on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms.
• Strong programming knowledge with languages such as C#, VB.NET, C++, C, or Java.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Excel.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proven technical track record and strong customer-facing relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel 25% or more, both domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing Digital, High-Speed Digital, HPC, SoC, Mixed-Signal, Analog, or Silicon Photonics devices.
• Experience with Teradyne UltraFlex, UltraFlexPlus, IG-XL, Eagle Test Systems EV/EV-MST, Advantest V93K, SmarTest 7, SmarTest 8, or similar semiconductor test platforms.
• Experience with handler and prober interfaces.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing local or global teams.

Compensation: 
The base salary range for this role is $139,400 to 223,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.  

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
