Role Summary

The Engineering Technician provides hands-on technical aid to engineering and operations teams by performing testing, troubleshooting, repair, validation, and system-related activities.

This role ensures electronic assemblies, systems, and equipment meet defined quality performance and reliability standards

The Engineering Technician works closely with Test Engineers, Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to assist in engineering experiments, validation activities, and continuous process and quality improvements.

 

Key Duties

  • Perform testing, debugging, repair, and rework of electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies, and systems in accordance with defined procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist in engineering experiments, validation runs, and system bring-up activities.
  • Interpret test results, datalogs, and failure symptoms; execute defined troubleshooting steps and escalate unresolved or complex issues to Engineers or Supervisors.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives, quality and reliability investigations in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
  • Perform visual inspections, verification, and proper reassembly following repair or rework.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, PCBA handling, safety, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to tests, repairs, and engineering activities.
  • Perform first-level equipment or system maintenance as required.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on knowledge of: Electronics troubleshooting and repair Soldering and rework techniques
  • Use of electronic test equipment (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, automated test systems)
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, test results, and failure data.
  • Computer literate; able to work with test software, logs, and electronic documentation.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Education & Experience

  • IPC certification related to PCBA assembly, soldering, or inspection (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC 7711).
  • Basic to conversational English communication skills to aid in coordination with Engineers and cross-site teams.
  • Experience engineering validation aid, repair, or manufacturing operations in a semiconductor or electronics environment.

 

Work Schedule / Shift Requirement

  • This role operates in a three‑shift work schedule, including day, swing, and graveyard (night) shifts, to support 24x7 repair operations.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
