Opportunity Overview
The Senior Hardware Engineer designs, develops, and validates high-current, high-power sourcing and switching hardware for semiconductor automated test equipment (ATE). The role focuses on design verification, power delivery, transient response, regulation, protection, thermal management, and system integration for advanced SoCs, FPGAs, and other high-power devices. The engineer owns power-delivery modules from concept through production release, collaborating with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and test engineering teams.
- Lead bring-up, design verification, and lab characterization of power-delivery modules, including load regulation, transient response, efficiency, thermal behavior, and fault handling.
- Develop and execute verification plans; use power analyzers, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, current probes, and electronic loads to test design assumptions and performance.
- Design protection and fault-response systems, and conduct reliability analysis, derating studies, thermal modeling, stress testing, and failure investigations.
- Collaborate with hardware designers to debug analog, digital, and mixed-signal issues and with firmware teams on control, telemetry, calibration, and fault reporting.
- Ensure modules meet ATE requirements for timing, triggering, synchronization, and software control; develop test programs and support integration with loadboards, probecards, and device-under-test power networks.
- Partner with product, test, and silicon engineering teams to define device requirements, mentor colleagues, and contribute to design standards and best practices.
