Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for OEMs is responsible for developing and maintaining business relationship with equipment builders that allows UR to drive growth above market rates. This individual will be accountable for achieving the US East Region OEM sales goals through penetration of new customers as well as continued development of existing customers. The OEM BDM will work collaboratively with the Channel Development Managers (CDM), Business Development Managers (BDM), and Area Sales Manager (ASM), to identify new potential OEM target customers. This position reports directly to the Area Sales Manager, US East.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the implementation of the Universal Robots OEM business plan for US East Region
  • Develop & expand the OEM business to ensure annual revenue, service targets, and new OEM #’s are achieved 
  • Manage Key OEM accounts for the East region. Approximately 10 Accounts.
  • Implement sales methodologies appropriate for OEM customers with the aim to cultivate new OEM’s, identifying new targets via outbound marketing, lead generation activities, and BDM/CDM’s collaboration.
  • Implement standardized account management processes to include, Quarterly / Annual business reviews, quality reviews, and roadmap reviews with the aim to grow partnerships through a standardized and scalable process.
  • Project manage the technical development of OEM’s solution with potential high volume customers.
  • Capture market / competitive information to inform Product Management how best to position Universal Robots for success with OEM customers.
  • Provide monthly reports on OEM performance, pipeline health, status of ongoing initiatives/POC’s.
  • Coordinate with Product Management and Value stream leaders to detail OEM demand profile in order to better serve the needs of growing OEM customer base.
  • Drive KPIs and action plans to achieve the annual target. Develop countermeasures to close any gaps to budget if behind.
  • Represent company at tradeshows and other professional activities
  • Must be capable of overnight travel up to 50% of time; or as required.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a business or technical subject area (engineering, math, science)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial function roles
  • Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the industrial marketplace
  • Previous experience in industrial automation, solution/project businesses involving highly technical products
  • Business acumen that can be applied at different levels of decision makers from senior management to technical support
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skillset with previous MS Excel, Business Intelligence and CRM experience
