As Global Key Account Manager you will report to the Director Large Accounts Automotive and be responsible for the business development activities with the assigned accounts in the Automotive industry.

In this role, you will be the driver in developing and executing strategic plans for assigned accounts, to sustain the strong growth path of Universal Robots worldwide.

Your work will contribute to shaping how we partner with large strategic accounts in the future.


You will be the trusted advisor of key accounts, distribution partners and executive sponsors.
Within our global organization you will employ a global mindset as you’ll
work across all geographies, ensuring continuity of key account relationships.


Grow your accounts and exceed expectations


As Global Key Account Manager, you will proactively identify and grow opportunities within defined accounts and collaborate with global and regional sales teams to ensure growth attainment. You will forecast and track key account metrics, whilst proactively leading a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for short as well as long term targets.


As our Global Account Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategy development and execution of the global partnership in collaboration with the regional structures. It will be your responsibility to set the strategic direction and view the collaboration in the bigger perspective, but at the same time handle day-to-day challenges and activities.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow the relationship with the assigned accounts
  • Meet and exceed assigned targets and strategic objectives
  • Define and implement programs to support the account strategy
  • Maintain the CRM project funnel
  • Define potential marketing communication campaigns
  • Perform regular reviews with the global team and the customer
  • Build up global relationship to key people on all levels and connect them to the regional UR team
  • Operate as the main point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts
  • Collaborate with local UR Marketing, Application Engineering and Customer Service to further develop the accounts and drive business development activities in the territory


Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education you need to succeed


Ideally, you come with a commercial or technical degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., MBA or equivalent). You demonstrate an ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.


It’s essential you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Preferably experience either in Automotive, Industrial Automation or Robotics industry
  • Business and technical fluency in German and English
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Experience with sales of complex technical solutions
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills


You thrive in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, as well as in fast-paced environments where change is the norm. Likewise, you thrive managing multiple projects at once whilst still paying a high attention to detail. You need to think strategically, conceptually and to turn strategy into executable milestones in a fast-changing environment.


This role is home-office based in Germany, you can expect up to 50% travelling.
