Opportunity Overview: 

As a Development Consultant / Global Application Engineer, you will help accelerate adoption of PolyScope X and the URCap/URCapX ecosystem in the United States and globally. You will work with partners, OEMs, integrators, customers, Product Management, R&D, Sales, regional Application Engineering, and Customer Success teams to guide technical onboarding, validate integrations, create enablement assets, and turn field feedback into better products and developer experiences. This role combines deep technical problem solving, partner and customer interaction, knowledge sharing, and practical application of product strategy in industrial environments. 

 

  • Lead technical onboarding for strategic partners, OEMs, integrators, and customers developing products or applications for PolyScope X and URCapX, including solution scoping, SDK/API usage, architecture choices, integration constraints, testing expectations, and deployment readiness. 

  • Develop application solutions and technical guidance across collaborative robotics, industrial automation, system integration, demos, proof-of-concept planning, prototype validation, feasibility analysis, integration risk identification, and customer acceptance support. 

  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D through beta testing, issue reproduction, structured feedback, and identification of gaps in PolyScope X, URCapX, SDK/API documentation, developer tools, migration guidance, and partner readiness materials. 

  • Build and deliver durable enablement resources for partners, regional application engineers, and internal stakeholders, including workshops, webinars, demos, sample code, reference implementations, guides, validation checklists, troubleshooting notes, and training curricula. 

  • Support selected customer visits, partner meetings, trade shows, and technical workshops, and partner with Sales and Product Marketing to communicate product value, integration considerations, ecosystem advantages, expected impact, and engagement scope.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. 

  • Up to 5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, robotics, system integration, application engineering, partner development, or an adjacent technical consulting role. 

  • Hands-on experience with collaborative or industrial robot applications, customer or partner technical support, and structured technical validation. 

  • Robot programming and automation integration experience; Universal Robots, PolyScopeURScriptURCaps/URCapX, or PolyScope X experience is strongly preferred. 

  • Software development capability in one or more high-level languages or frameworks such as Python, C++, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or related web or embedded technologies such as Angular. 

  • Working knowledge of industrial communication and integration concepts such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, EtherCAT, REST APIs, I/O mapping, and device configuration. 

  • Ability to define technical specifications, test plans, validation reports, and actionable feedback for Product Management and R&D. 

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including global teams, partners, customers, and commercial stakeholders. 

  • Preferred experience onboarding or supporting partners, OEMs, or developers creating software or hardware products for a robot ecosystem. 

  • Preferred experience creating training content, developer examples, technical documentation, or partner-facing enablement material, and experience with ecosystem, marketplace, developer community, SDK, API, or platform migration initiatives. 

  • Preferred experience in one or more strategic application areas such as welding, palletizing, machine tending, dispensing, screwdriving, assembly, vision, or Physical AI.

Compensation: 

The base salary range for this role is $71,700-114,700. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location. 

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.  (removes IF: no PB, no Bonus/VC provided) 

Sales Incentive Plan: This job is additionally eligible for participation in the organization’s sales incentive plan. (removes IF: no SIP provided)
