Opportunity Overview:

 

The Director of Field Marketing Americas will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overall marketing strategy for the region, reporting to the VP Marketing & Communications, and with a dotted line to the Regional Head of Sales to ensure marketing and sales alignment.  The region – United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil - represents an important role and sizeable growth outlook in the total business of Teradyne Robotics.

The role requires an experienced and dynamic marketing professional, with a proven track record in B2B technology marketing, ideally within the manufacturing, logistics, and related automation sectors. You will be responsible for developing and implementing successful integrated marketing, demand generation, and communications strategies to build brand awareness, displace competitors, and support revenue growth. This is a field marketing role, focused on driving demand and engagement within the region, working directly with sales teams and channel partners to execute localized and local marketing programs and providing market, customer, channel, and other feedback to central marketing. You and the team will play a key role in crafting the future direction of the region, contributing to the Teradyne Robotics brands being perceived as leaders in Advanced Robotics, trusted partners for automation solutions, and providers of easy-to-use and deployable robotics. 

You will oversee the region’s marketing resources and collaborate cross-functionally to run measurable marketing programs targeted to end customers and channel partners, develop perception campaigns, build a scalable and high-performance demand generation engine and constantly monitor performance. 

 

***Travel: This position requires ~30% travel across the region.

***Location: East Coast US, preferably within reach of Boston/North Reading MA; Novi, Detroit MI.

 

In this role, responsibilities include:

Provide strategic leadership 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive integrated marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the region’s business objectives and supports the overall company strategy. 
  • Provide leadership to the field marketing teams and support the regional VP of Sales.
  • Build common goals with the sales organization ensuring success and accountability. 
  • Build and inspire a talented, engaged and high performing Marketing function for the region.
  • Create clarity on roles and responsibilities and a development plan for each individual to ensure business impact, job satisfaction, and career progression. 

Customer/Partner experiences 

  • Build and activate exhibitions, seminars and customer/partner events that deliver customer intimacy, develop demand and build pipeline. 
  • Together with sales, build and activate an Account-Based Marketing (ABM) program for key targeted accounts.
  • Build partnership with the key channel ecosystem including joint Go-to-Market (GTM) and investment strategies to drive business outcomes. 

Market insights 

  • Gather, share and leverage market, customer, channel and other insights to strengthen product and service positioning and iterate marketing strategies. 
  • Develop audience personas and customer journeys to ensure we inform and delight our audiences improving business impact and efficiency. 

Manage key KPI, ROMI and reporting

  • Ensure best practices, measurement for Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI) and campaign effectiveness.  
  • Ensure critical KPI’s are agreed upon, communicated, and embedded throughout the marketing funnel and used to inform investment and focus. 
  • Participate in monthly business reviews, and QBRs to report on marketing impact.

Regional budget and spend management 

  • Develop an investment strategy and efficient budget management and reporting aligned to business needs. 

Manage regional communications strategy

  • Collaborate with global communications team to oversee the regional communications strategy (including agency partners) to develop and deploy storytelling at brand, product, industry and market level, to increase awareness and create desired perception of Teradyne Robotics, UR, and MiR.

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience with a track record of creating successful campaigns and demand generation programs, in a B2B and/or technology context, with experience in an indirect sales structure.
  • Proven ability to successfully navigate regional and central marketing structures and dynamics as well as manage remote teams. 
  • Experience of leading, inspiring and growing a team of high-performing talent.
  • Compelling storytelling skills with an ability to execute high impact campaigns end-to-end and a growth marketer with a bias for action and an understanding of each channel’s role in influencing the customer journey. 
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities with the ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and sales data to identify opportunities and address challenges in the Advanced Robotics market.  
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate data into action and measure marketing programs.  
  • Proven experience in developing and executing joint marketing programs with channel partners.
  • Experience with Salesforce, PowerBI, and marketing automation platforms (e.g. HubSpot).
  • Experience in managing and negotiating with outside creative agencies and partners 
  • Proficiency in languages (other than English) would be an asset, with Spanish being highly desirable.
  • Build a scalable and high-performance regional demand generation engine, encompassing digital marketing (SEO/SEM, paid social, content marketing), lead nurturing, webinars, email marketing, and event marketing (both virtual and in-person).
