As our Head of Commercial Operations – a new role - you design and build best-in-class performance analytics capabilities that provides a balanced perspective across financial & non-financial metrics, to provide insights on the UR’s commercial organization’s performance, on its customers and markets. You will operate with a group of global stakeholders within the Commercial organization as well as Universal Robots’ Finance team based in Denmark. You will work in a hybrid setup with regular travel and will be based in either Munich, DE, Barcelona, ES or Odense, DK. You will report to the Commercial Strategy Director. To give you an overview of how this affects your role and responsibilities you can look forward to working with:

  • Commercial Operations: You own the pipeline management process across the organization, including reporting, and embedding a performance-oriented culture into all levels of the organization. You lead the systemization, automation, and process enhancement. You own and oversee the governance & continuous improvement of all sales tools (CRM, Partner Portal, Hubspot etc.) You direct the Sales Support Analyst team that manages day-to-day administrative responsibilities for the sales organization. You are the global owner with coordination responsibility across key elements such as: 
    • Commercial’s role in cross-functional processes (pricing, information sharing, annual planning, etc.)
    • Strategic development and on-going usage of all commercial systems (e.g., CRM), sales methodologies and data analytics tools
    • Tight coordination with Marketing operations, lead management, and sales
    • Support the monthly forecasting process with deep analytic insight, aligning targets with opportunities to grow across regions, channels, and segments
  • Commercial Strategy: You will advise and update the Commercial Strategy leaders on findings, progress, and challenges. You will collaborate with the commercial organization to implement improvements across the commercial organization. You provide monthly updates and share with Commercial and Marketing leadership teams areas of opportunity and challenges; you are the critical insight leader ensuring sales and marketing effectiveness. For our business reviews you will be responsible for the process and work closely with the Finance team. Here you will be pre-reviewing all commercial team’s KPIs, mapping findings with the planned outcomes and ensure the teams are held accountable to identify actions to increase performance.

How and where you have built your experience is less important to us; however, we do require that you:

  • Have informal leadership experience where you know how to leverage and empower a team through collaboration
  • Have commercial drive and experience in working in a sales organization
  • Have experience in translating strategy into plans and into action
  • Are strategic and analytical, knows how to translate plans into actions
  • Posses the ability and desire to question the status quo
  • Can translate data and insights into clear messages and actions
  • Know how to always have the customer in the room
  • Excel in communication and collaboration, and find it easy to engage at all levels in the organization and navigate a matrix setup


You hold direct reports and commercial colleagues accountable for agreed-to priorities and commitments.


We imagine that you have academic qualifications and preferably you hold: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four- year college or university in Business or Finance, or a related field (Masters preferred), and plus ten years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience


Preferably, you bring lots of experience from scaling successful commercial organizations. Maybe you have been leading consulting engagements where you designed and implemented the best commercial operations processes at high-growth, global businesses. If you in addition have experience in strategy consulting with time as analyst, it is considered a plus. You are fluent in both written and spoken English as this is our corporate language.

On a personal note, you are independent, yet a team player. You are motivated by solving complex tasks and still you are very practical in the way you approach things.
