NPI Manufacturing Engineer

As our new NPI Manufacturing Engineer, you will ensure that new products are designed for efficient manufacturing and assembly, develop and validate processes and equipment, and collaborate with various departments to manage risk and ensure high-quality new product introductions. Additionally, you will utilize MES programming to implement new production workflows.

 

You will cover projects from both Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) and drive them to launch within the Teradyne Robotics Operations organization.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that new products are designed in a way that makes them easy and cost-effective to manufacture and assemble
  • Be an integrated part of New Product Development teams
  • Develop and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment before handover to Operations & High-Volume Manufacturing
  • Own the P-FMEA and input to D-FMEA reviews and manage risks
  • Create prototypes and mock-ups for R&D to test and verify product designs
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Sourcing, Operations, and Production to ensure smooth product implementations
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) programming knowledge to implement production workflows and data management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant experience in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in R&D and/or Manufacturing Engineering departments
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings (GPS/GD&T)
  • Experience in product development activities, especially within LEAN Agile environments
  • Knowledge of APQP methods and techniques
  • Experience with LEAN, Six-Sigma, and APQP
  • MES programming knowledge and experience
  • High-level English proficiency
