New Product Introduction Engineer – Electrical

Job overview

You will be responsible for being the Supply Chain & Operations (SC & Ops) representative and resource in New Product Development (NPD) & Continuous Improvement (CI) projects. Your primary focus will be to drive Design for Manufacture & Assembly considerations; focusing on electronic systems. You will also participate in design validation and testing through the product development projects and coordinate and manage the implementation of new products to ensure a seamless and fast product ramp-up.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for representing Supply Chain & Operations (SC & Ops) in New Product Development (NPD) & Continuous Improvement (CI) activities; primary focus to drive Design for Manufacture & Assembly considerations; focusing on electronic systems
  • Be an integrated part of R&D’s LEAN/Agile product teams
  • Responsible for P-FMEA development and key input to D-FMEA
  • Ensure Mock-ups, Prototypes and Beta builds are completed by the NPI team, delivering high quality and repeatable components / products to R&D for test and verification
  • Develop new processes, equipment, and test coverage to support new or improved product introductions
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of new products to ensure a seamless and fast product ramp-up
  • Ensure new equipment & processes are designed, capable and handed over to Operations and validated in a 0-Series
  • Close collaboration with R&D, Quality, Sourcing, Production Technology and Production
  • Ad-Hoc support to production & R&D
     

 You will be based in Odense, Denmark and will report into the NPI Manager, Michael Lund-Laverick.

 

Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this position we imagine you will come with:

  • MSc or MEng in Mechatronics, Production, Electrical or Robotic engineering
  • At least 5 years’ experience from similar jobs, either from an R&D or Production Engineering department in an industrial company
  • Experience from applying APQP methods and techniques in product development & introduction
  • Preferably project management experience
  • Experience with LEAN and Six-Sigma an advantage
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 / 620 standards are an advantage
  • English and Danish at a high level (oral and written)
  • IT at a high level
