Job overview

You will be responsible for being the Supply Chain & Operations (SC & Ops) representative and resource in New Product Development (NPD) & Continuous Improvement (CI) projects. Your primary focus will be to drive Design for Manufacture & Assembly considerations throughout the development process and coordinate and manage the implementation of new products to ensure a seamless and fast product ramp-up.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for representing Supply Chain & Operations (SC & Ops) in New Product Development (NPD) & Continuous Improvement (CI) activities; primary focus to drive Design for Manufacture & Assembly considerations
  • Be an integrated part of R&D’s LEAN/Agile product teams
  • Responsible for P-FMEA development and key input to D-FMEA
  • Ensure Mock-ups, Prototypes and Beta builds are completed within the NPI team, delivering high quality and repeatable components / products to R&D for test and verification
  • Support new equipment & processes designs, ensuring they are capable and handed over to Operations and validated in the 0-Series
  • Coordinate the implementation of new products (0-Series) to ensure a seamless and fast product ramp-up
  • Ensure that designs are verified and approved (Beta series) by R&D prior to 0-Series process validation
  • Close collaboration with R&D, Quality, Sourcing, Production Technology and Production
  • Ad-Hoc support to production & R&D as needed
  • Manage day to day activities within the NPI sandbox development workshop in collaboration with your NPI colleagues

 You will be based in Odense, Denmark and will report into the NPI Manager, Michael Lund-Laverick.


Qualifications and experience

To be successful in this position we imagine you will come with:

  • MSc or MEng in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Production engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer within R&D or Production Engineering departments
  • Ability to spar with and coach mechanical engineers
  • Able to quickly read, interpret and understand detailed technical drawings (regarding GPS / GD&T) and the impact on the system
  • Experience as a participant or leader in product development activities, especially within a highly iterative and LEAN Agile development environment
  • Experience from applying APQP methods and techniques in product development & introduction
  • Experience with LEAN and Six-Sigma an advantage
  • English and Danish at a high level (oral and written)
