Do you like to create great UI interfaces on different platforms? Do you want to create the best possible UI for connectivity in our robots? Come help us enable our customers work with robots – not like robots. If this sound interesting, then please read on. You could be the Connectivity Frontend Engineer we are looking for.

Universal Robots is the worldwide market leader in collaborative robots. Our robots have revolutionized the way people work – not by making jobs redundant, but by improving productivity and creating a safer work environment. And now we are expanding our connectivity software teams to put even better cobots on the market.

Cross-functionality UI Developer

As our new frontend engineer for our connectivity product creation team, you will be working as a cross-functional engineer bringing the best possible UI on our robot platform to our customers, to enable them to configure the connectivity in our robot. The team you will be working with, is cross-functional and collaborates with teams in the Connectivity and Platform value stream to develop new and exciting functionality to our renowned robot platform.

As our new frontend engineer in the connectivity team, you will be developing the UI on the robot for new functionality introduced to the market over the coming years. You collaborate across our value streams with other UI engineers to enhance, maintain and integrate into existing UIs for the robot to deploy the new functionality.

You are passionate about making great user interfaces and making the use of robots as frictionless as possible. You think as a user, and work as an engineer. You deliver the functionality your team produces, in the UI, as a cohesive user experience – tied well in with the architecture and contributions from other teams.

With reference to the manager of the controller software team you will be working closely with other frontend engineers both in your own team and other teams across value streams.

An eye for details and skillful engineering

We are looking for a skilled UI engineer, who has possibly worked with different platforms, to provide a great user experience on both our existing teach pendant, as well as new off-robot platforms. Language and implementation platform doesn’t matter to you. A great and frictionless UI is everything.

You may have a background as a software engineer or software developer across different products, and you enjoy not only building great UIs, but really strive towards making the experience enjoyable for the customer by putting yourself in their place.

You don’t need to be proficient in all tools and languages used such as Java and JavaScript/Typescript - yet. What matters most is your passion for great software user interfaces and your ability to see the interface from the user perspective - and learn more as you go. We will make sure you get the relevant training and guidance.

Skills and abilities:

Educationally you may hold a bachelor’s in software engineering. We expect that your experience with software user interfaces is reflected in your work to some degree in the following areas:

  • You’ve worked with frontend / UI interfaces creation and development for at least three years.
  • You work well in a cross-skill team contributing your strong skills in UI development based on different languages and technologies.
  • You know how to write clean and maintainable code (e.g., SOLID principles).
  • You write and deploy automated test to ensure your artifacts keep working down the road.

We offer

You will be working with a living and evolving product which is getting smarter and better every day, and your colleagues will be a group of enthusiastic collaborators, eager to help and work collectively towards an even smarter platform for our robots, continuously improving the capabilities of our robots.

Some of the benefits of working with us are flexible work hours, lunch arrangement in a great canteen, support for personal development, health insurance, office right next to the highway exit and much more.

At Universal Robots, we value highly engaged employees with a deep passion for automation and in exchange we offer an exciting job in a strong innovative and fast-growing company with the opportunity of working alongside skilled and innovative colleagues.

You will be empowered to help make Universal Robots a success. You take responsibility and act accordingly - we trust our employees to make educated decisions that benefit the organization. Also, if you’ve worked in an agile organization, you will fit right in. We have dedicated product managers, scrum masters and a Center of Excellence for Agile practices
