Job Description

It’s key that you are tech savvy and passionate about robots. You will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the collaborative robot market and its drivers, being able to extract insights from market data in a field where trustworthy publications are limited and often contradicting. You will develop quantitative methods of evaluating our performance against opportunities and competition, providing an understanding what works and what doesn't work in both growing the market and gaining share. 

In this role, you will bring your experience in using various strategic tools, such as Porters Five Forces, Hambrick & Fredrickson, and Ansoff Matrix, and work daily with the market intelligence team and the senior leadership team, to help define the corporate strategy. You will be responsible for the creation of the corporate strategy document, that will be update quarterly, and will be used to drive decisions for both organic and inorganic activity and identifying key industry partnership to enable growth.

As an energetic leader, you have a proven experience in building high-performing teams and thrives in a fast-paced environment.  Your communication skills are impeccable. You not only write and present clearly, but you can explain complex concepts in a few powerful words. With your stellar interpersonal communication skills, you can collaborate and influence staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and extended stakeholder networks. 

The role is based in Odense, Denmark. The worlds epicenter of collaborative robotics.  The position reports to VP Strategy and Innovation. 


Director of Corporate Strategy Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead strategy setting exercises, including strategic reviews and scenario planning, and guiding senior executive decision-making processes.  
  • Work with senior leaders across the enterprise to identify and prioritize innovation and commercial growth and development opportunities. 
  • Coach and develop team members to achieve their own development goals and potential
  • Lead quarterly research and synthesize the analysis inputs, identify critical insights, and develop compelling recommendations.
  • Assess market trends and competitors, working with the market intelligence team and product managers.
  • Identify threats and opportunities.
  • Propose acquisition and investment targets, in coordination with Teradyne BD/M&A and Universal-Robots’ senior leadership team.
  • Align departmental goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy. 
  • Present findings, projections, and recommended actions. 
  • Drive annual and mid-term planning process. 


Director of Corporate Strategy Requirements: 


  • Degree in engineering or business, MBA preferred. 
  • Good technology understanding and insatiable curiosity.
  • 8+years of experience in business administration, management consulting or strategic planning. Robotics, High-Tech industry experience preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize information rapidly and effectively and can identify critical insights and develop compelling recommendations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discussions and facilitate cross-functional teams through complex brainstorming and decision-making processes.
  • Mastery of excel models and business cases. 
  • Experience in designing and implementing strategic programs and driving to outcomes.
  • Outstanding research skills and experience in leading primary research.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with the teams from executive leadership to market and business analysts to technologists. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presence in front of senior executives.
  • Brief industry analysts.
  • In-depth understanding of business operations and procedures.
  • Organized and has project management skills. 
  • Strong leadership skills. 
  • Open and highly collaborative, ability to partner well with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English writing with strong grammar.
