Job overview

You will be responsible for managing transformational manufacturing change projects that support and maximize the potential of new product introductions. Working closely with R&D and NPI colleagues, you will ensure that iterative LEAN Agile developments are translated into equipment and process development projects, that are matured and industrialized in parallel. Working within Supply Chain & Operations (SC & Ops), this is a key role that will shape UR’s future factory concepts; automating what makes sense and implementing data driven & digitalized operational solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage risks, requirements, project costs and timelines
  • Drive assembly and automation activities with equipment development and machine build partners
  • Ensure that the correct resources are allocated as needed through the development, implementation, and industrialization cycle
  • Help to shape UR’s future factory concepts; automating what makes sense and implementing data driven & digitalized operational solutions that are scalable to meet future growth ambitions
  • Support NPI colleagues to deliver Prototypes and Beta builds on increasingly mature processes / equipment to deliver high quality and repeatable products to R&D for test and verification
  • Ensure all relevant documentation required for handover and daily operations (e.g., P-FMEA, control plans, operational and maintenance instructions, process validation etc.) are in place
  • Coordinate the implementation & industrialization of new products (0-Series) to ensure seamless, fast, and scalable product introductions
  • Utilize a hands-on approach to support the collaborative and Agile development processes utilized within UR

Qualifications and experience

To be successful in this position we imagine you will come with:

  • Experience leading process and equipment development projects within a fast-paced organization
  • Your background and experience are likely that of a mechanical, automation or manufacturing engineer, who has become adept at leading complex, cross functional technical projects
  • Able to spar with mechanical, electronic, and manufacturing engineers
  • Experience of working in or with R&D product development teams, operating in a highly iterative and Agile product & feature development environment
  • Be able to understand and have a natural interest in mechatronics, robotics, software, and test requirements
  • English and Danish at a high level (oral and written)

As a person you are independent, but still a team player. You are motivated by solving complex tasks and still you are very practical in the way you approach things. Here at Universal Robots, we are very flexible, and we expect you to be the same. We have an agile organization where things continuously change and therefore it´s an advantage if you see yourself as a fast learner.

You will be based in Odense, Denmark and will report into the NPI Manager, Michael Lund-Laverick.
