We are looking for an experienced and goal-oriented Test Development Engineering Manager to lead our team in the development of comprehensive testing solutions for all phases of Teradyne Robotics Production Operations. The Test Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of NPD testing processes.  This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to driving excellence in testing practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead a team of test development engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
    • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, regularly assessing progress and providing constructive feedback.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  2. Test Development Strategy:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Define testing methodologies, standards, and best practices for all phases of Teradyne Robotics Production ecosystem.
    • Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance testing capabilities and efficiency, driving innovation in test development processes.
  3. Test System Design and Implementation:
    • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of test systems and equipment for various stages of robotics production testing.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to define test requirements and specifications.
    • Ensure that test systems are robust, scalable, and optimized for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
  4. Test Automation and Optimization:
    • Drive the automation of testing processes wherever possible to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize human error.
    • Implement data-driven approaches to test optimization, leveraging analytics and insights to identify areas for improvement.
    • Continuously monitor and evaluate test performance metrics, implementing corrective actions and improvements as needed.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure that testing processes and procedures comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality management systems.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain robust quality control measures throughout the testing lifecycle.
    • Investigate and resolve any test-related issues or discrepancies, implementing corrective and preventive actions to uphold product quality.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in test development engineering, with a focus on robotics or electronic systems testing
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of PCB, Electromechanical and Robotic Assembly testing methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages and software tools commonly used in test automation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of robotics technology, manufacturing processes, and industry standards/regulations is a plus.
