Channel Development Manager, Lyon Area, France

Universal Robots is therefore now looking for a new colleague to join us to continue the steep growth rate in Universal Robots.

We sell our products through distributors, so you will work in close collaboration with these. Your responsibility is to ensure revenue growth in your territory, which you do through engaging with potential customers. You will have the responsibility for strategical and commercial development of distributors’, OEM and System integrators’ network and the day-to-day management and enablement of the partner network.


We have a huge diversity of customers from small and medium sized production companies of all kinds, to very Large Accounts in any kind of industrial segments.

Work in close collaboration with our distributors and integrators to make sure that potential clients are being introduced to the best solutions


This new role is France based, located in Lyon area, and reports directly to the France Country manager. As Channel Development Manager you are responsible for increasing the sales in the channel.


You will predominantly be working from your home office or out of the French office in Suresnes and you and your passionate colleagues will be a part of the regional team which focuses on the South EMEA market. Travels will need to be undertaken to meet clients, carry out demonstrations, attend trade shows and support the distributors.


Together, you work towards reaching annual goals for new and existing markets, where you lead the planning and execution of the strategy to reach them.


Primary tasks in your role

New business development as well as managing the existing distributor network in the territory to increase revenue and grow the business to meet our ambitious growth targets. It is also required to conduct the sales training, developing, motivating, and supporting of existing distributors and OEM, whilst managing them by regular meetings consisting of funnel management, punctual forecasting on CRM and creation of actions plans.


Other everyday responsibilities include


  • Developing key account channels (distributors and system integrators) to penetrate market from SMEs to large international companies.
  • Canvass, initiate, qualify sales leads and follow through to ensure a solid sales funnel with distributors.
  • Facilitate joint visits with distributor’s sales representatives to end users
  • Developing sales & marketing strategy and action plans with Country manager to strategically position UR in the market and build brand awareness via positive visibility in the market


Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education

Most important is your drive and personality. If you have the will, energy, and passion, together we will secure the success. You need to have some technical, sales and business development experience. You are strong both in working autonomously and in a team. You plan your own time and efforts with support and assistance from the team. You are used to reporting on progress using a CRM and providing accurate forecasting.

Further, we would expect you to have


  • A strong sense of understanding of the value proposition to the end users
  • Experience with structured sales, plans, budgets, pipeline management etc.
  • A strong sense of commercial awareness as well as the ability to present the concept of flexible automation to clients, prospects, and education centers

Experience in robotics, cobotics, industrial automation, solution/project sales involving technical products would be an advantage. Full technical training will be provided, and the role is supported by technical application engineers based in France.
