Opportunity Overview

Provide high-quality technical support and development to our partners.

Reporting directly to our Head of Applications Engineering, you will work closely with — and be responsible for supporting — Teradyne Robotics sales representatives, partners, and customers in Thailand. You will also provide remote technical support to partners and colleagues elsewhere in South East Asia and Oceania.

As the Senior Applications Engineer for Thailand, you will own the technical relationship for a portfolio of distributors and system integrators, act as the country's technical authority on collaborative robot applications, and mentor and upskill junior engineers within the partner network and the regional team.

Your role will also include the following tasks:

• Pre-Sales activity
• Educate the market on collaborative robots and their applications — machine tending, palletising and depalletising, screwdriving and assembly, welding, dispensing, and quality inspection
• Conduct application proof of concepts (POCs)
• Provide application simulations and reach studies
• Size and specify robot cells: reach, payload, cycle time and ROI calculations to support partner quotations
• Support partners on RFQs, technical proposals and customer demonstrations, including trade shows and roadshows
• Provide product and application consultation
• Conduct line-walks and feasibility analysis of applications
• Partner enablement and training
• Develop partners’ and end users’ technical knowledge and capabilities regarding Teradyne Robotics products and applications
• Deliver product and application training, and assess partner engineer competency
• Partner project support
• Support partners through deployment: programming assistance, on-site commissioning support and troubleshooting during installation and ramp-up
• Act as escalation point for partner technical issues, liaising with regional and global technical teams
• Capture and share application know-how, reference cases and best practices across the partner network

The job demands that you have documented practical experience with automation and robot applications. You should be comfortable in customer-facing roles such as field sales or technical pre-sales. Furthermore, you should have experience with technical training and customer visits.

The ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in the robotics or automation industry, including at least 3 years in a customer-facing pre-sales or applications role.
• Familiarity with Universal Robots products and programming in PolyScope.
• Experience with PLCs and automated processes
• Hands-on deployment experience in at least two of: machine tending, palletising, screwdriving and assembly, welding, dispensing, or vision-guided quality inspection
• Experience with end-effectors, vision systems and common cobot peripherals
• Experience with simulation tools such as Visual Components or equivalent
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as C++, Java or Python
• Familiarity with AI tools and hands-on experience using them
• Fluent in spoken and written English; native or business-level Thai
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer and partner sites within Thailand (approximately 30–40% of time); Valid driving licence
• Comfortable supporting partners and customers in other countries remotely, by video call and shared simulation.
• Excellent computer literacy.
