Channel Development Manager

The Channel Development Manager will be reporting to the Head of Sales, SEAO. This role will be based in KL, Malaysia. You will work closely with our partners primarily on leads generation, marketing activities as well as assist with the commercial development of distributors in Malaysia, Indonesia and other assigned markets in the SEAO region. You will manage the strategy, business and activity plans, marketing, implementation, budget and commercial results for the market through distributors. The position will interface with end users, integrators, distributors, sales team and other stakeholders. This position accounts for about 50% overseas travels.


The final candidate will be a high intellectual with great energy who thrives in a challenging, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment. In addition, it is expected that this individual will have the combination of talent and drive to lead and achieve performance goals.


Roles & Responsibility

  • Develop key accounts unique channel (End user, distributor, OEMs and system integrators)
  • Drive KPIs and action plans to achieve the annual target. 
  • Manage distributors by monthly meetings of funnel management, forecasting and action plans with distributors
  • Canvass, initiate, qualify potential leads and follow through to ensure a solid pipeline with distributors
  • Train, develop, motivate and support existing distributors
  • Facilitate joint visits with distributor’s sales reps to end users
  • Devise partners’  marketing strategy and action plans with a marketing manager to position UR in the market and create brand awareness via positive visibility in the market
  • An availability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is a requirement.



  • Bachelor degree or higher in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic) or Business or related studies
  • High English proficiency is a must for this job. Any other relevant language spoken within SEA would also be advantageous. 
  • Have a minimum of 8 years successful track record indirect sales to distributors
  • Experience in industrial automation, solution/ project sales involving technical products would be an advantage
  • Strong sense of understanding of the value proposition to the end users
  • Experience with structured sales, plans, budgets, pipeline management, marketing
  • Business acumen that you can apply on different decision levels from senior management level to technical support
  • Experience in People management
  • Overseas working experience would be an advantage
  • Must possess strong communication skills and have a good understanding of cross-cultural differences
  • Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia will be advantageous.
