The employee in this job will supervise technicians and assemblers in performing first builds and test in the support of New Product Introduction project work. The employee works within general methods and procedures, exercises considerable, independent judgment to select the proper course of action, and is required to review the work to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, procedures, and policies. The employee serves as a first-line supervisor directing subordinate staff in the work area.


•    Selects and assigns staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion.
•    Ensure compliance and drive safety culture including safety principles, operational discipline.
•    Scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
•    Manages employee performance by reviewing completed work assignments and techniques.
•    Manages staff development and training needs, ensures that training is obtained.
•    Manages equipment maintenance and calibration needs for the area
•    Works with New Product development teams in understanding needs and specific deliverables for the projects coming out of the Pilot Line area
•    Manages labor needs for contemplated product validation work.
•    Position is as a “working” Supervisor. (Hands on)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•    Knowledge of the principles of electronics or related fields.
•    Knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques and tools
•    Knowledge of mathematics and statistics as required in work. SPC is a plus.
•    Knowledge of the hazards and safety practices required in working with electricity and electronics.
•    Knowledge of training and supervisory techniques.
•    Daily commuting to the workplace is a must.
•    Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees.

Possession of an engineering degree or equivalent work experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering or Technology.

Five years of experience in supervising / leading teams in the assembly build and/or test of electro-mechanical assemblies.
