The Teradyne Hardware Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Semiconductor Reliability Engineer to focus on the development of ASIC and FPGA device reliability for products within the Semiconductor Test division. Semiconductor design occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment. This individual will report directly to the Reliability Engineering Manager for product development at the Semiconductor Test Division. This is a hybrid role based out of our Agoura Hills location.
Responsibilities
- Work with the design team to apply Design for Reliability (DfR) concepts in ASIC development.
- Develop mixed signal ASIC reliability qualification test plans including stress test planning and acceptance test criteria requirements for ASIC design qualification.
- Work with the ASIC engineering team to evaluate the impact of failure mechanisms influencing ASIC design and risk mitigation.
- Ability to drive component failure analysis to root cause during ASIC design phase.
- Provide sustaining reliability support for semiconductor devices and drive reliability-related issues to resolution.
- Apply statistical tools like Weibull++ and Alta to evaluate component reliability and accelerated life testing analysis.
- Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for both design & process.
- Develop and validate a model for estimating mixed signal ASIC yield due to process, design and parametric shift.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in semiconductor fabrication process.
- Working knowledge of solid-state physics.
- Good understanding of failure mechanisms in semiconductor devices
- Hands on experience with stress test methods for semiconductors
- Experience with failure analysis to root cause.
- Experience with Design FMEA
- Experience in environmental stress testing
- Experience with statistical methods for accelerated life testing and component evaluation
- Working knowledge of test equipment and instrumentation (i.e., oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Spectrum analyzers and generators, etc) and a demonstrated ability to set-up tests and write test reports.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Statistical Software packages, reliability analysis software (Weibull++, BlockSim and Alta preferred)
- Good verbal, written and persuasion skills
- High energy, self-driven individual with good presentation and training skills
Education
- MS or PhD in EE or equivalent with 5 years or more experience in process engineering, solid state physics and Reliability Engineering.
- Experience in the Automated Test Equipment design (ATE) is a plus.
- Job requires 10% travel.
