Roles and responsibilities

 

 

  • Understanding complex technical issues and managing them within a fast-paced business environment
  • Identifying current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats
  • Develop a risk profile for platforms and products by:
    • Conducting threat modelling to identify risk exposure
    • Running effective vulnerability scans and identifying priority areas for remediation
    • Centre of Internet (CIS) hardening controls and testing against those
    • Build out dashboards/reporting and alerting to guide teams through remediation activities
    • Generate reports and KPIs to track program effectiveness
    • Controls testing and attack surface reduction
  • Manage analysis and response to detected events and security incidents, escalating where appropriate
  • Recommendations of sourcing and implementing new security solutions to better protect the organization
  • Conducting proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies
  • Organizing the maintaining and updating of security systems and testing the organization’s network and systems for resiliency
  • Develop, maintain, and implement vulnerability assessment related policies, controls, and procedures

 

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

 

  • A minimum of seven years of IT experience, with five years in an information security capacity
  • Proven work experience within vulnerability management and assessment program with program ownership
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security technologies, principles, and protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at both technical and management levels
  • Experience planning, prioritizing, and organizing work in all required areas
  • Working knowledge of NIST CSF, STRIDE, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks

 

Desirable

 

  • Recognized security certification(s)
  • CISSP certification
  • Proven experience in the following tools advantageous
    • Rapid 7
    • InsightVM
    • Pentera
    • Axonius
