Test Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads Preventive Maintenance to all ATEs (platform).

>Plan and coordinate with the team and with Operations to scheduled maintenance  (PM Schedule).

>Coordinate closely with operations management to maintain an up-to-date understanding of needs and priorities.

>Ensure that maintenance schedule is performed on time - possible no overdues

>Monitor and control maintenance tools, storage, equipment and/or even costs

>Enforce and improve health and safety policies (rules and regulations) and procedures


  • Diagnose breakdown problems and respond to system and test bed units faults (Corrective Maintenance)

>Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems, repairs and recommend parts replacement.

>Review operations reports and inspection recored to identify the faults or the causes.

>Submit reports on work activities and progress of work to the immediate superior.

>Keep proper record of work activities, including all procurement and maintenance costs (System Downtime Monitoring)

>Write or arrange critical parts list procurement of fixtures, fittings or components

>Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and troubleshooting guidelines

>Ensure that safety standards are maintained in the course of performing duties


  • Leads team that will support other engineering department to define, design, develop monitors and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:

>Value-added preventive maintenance tasks.

>Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.

>Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods


  • Leads continuous improvement efforts of maintenance teams to increase uptime and equipment reliability.
  • Partners with Operations team to implement and improve BEC(Basic Equipment Care)
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.

              These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.  To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies:


>Data analysis techniques that can include:

-Statistical process control

-Root cause analysis (RCA)

-Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS)

-Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)


  • Assists counterparts in Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to perform analyses of assets including:

>Systems and TBUs utilization

>Equipment effectiveness

>Remaining useful life

>Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, and costs of assets.

>Provides technical support to production maintenance and technical personnel.

>Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions.

>Work with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines


  • Manage and update technician advancement program so tech skill levels align with required on the job knowledge.

Encourage and facilitate the development of maintenance team members through the technician advancement program.

  • Leverage maintenance resources to proactively identify opportunities and carry out projects to improve safety, productivity, cost, and quality. Manage projects and

provide direction to contractors and vendors as required.

  • Manage all personnel aspects of teams - problem solving and decision making, coach, set goals, and handle disciplinary issues.

>Track and measure team performance.


  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage work.
  • Ensure effective resolution of problems through timely failure analysis, identification of root cause of failures, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Perform any other function as directed to meet company and business needs.

>May be required to assist external technicians/FSE's

>May be required to assist in the movement of new product transfers (projects).


Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Education Required:

    Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering or equivalent courses
    Must have high analytical skills.
    Must have a high sense of urgency.
    Must be capable of leading or interfacing with cross-functional teams across different levels of the organization.
    Must have solid software and hardware troubleshooting skills.
    Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
