EHS Engineer

Accountabilities:

  • Support worldwide environmental & safety compliance effort
  • Provide technical guidance on E&S issues
  • Review E&S regulatory submittals
  • Investigate current E&S best practices
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state & local environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Where applicable, help evaluate global environmental and safety regulations, to determine applicability to our products (i.e. EU RoHS, EU WEEE, REACH…)
  • Conduct and/or validate accident investigations to determine root cause and proactive solutions
  • Prepare OSHA Logs
  • Apply ergonomic principles to improve workstations & minimize injuries.
  • Obtain and maintain any necessary environmental permits
  • Oversee/manage and collaborate with facility management on projects as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement in EH&S programs and Sustainability Initiatives
  • Help develop EH&S training
  • Participate in EH&S audits
  • Ensure resolution and effective closure of all regulatory findings within established time frames
  • Help identify & address EHS issues related to equipment/site design/ installation.
  • Maintains and Updates Safety Data Sheet Program
  • Develops Policies and Procedures related to EHS
  • Participate in ISO 14001 audits/certifications
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, such as US EPA and OSHA as needed.
  • Assist with carbon focused initiatives to drive down companies carbon footprint
  • Manage solid waste/recycling initiatives
  • Provide support to facility/office

 

Skill and Qualifications:

  • The ability to work both independently and collectively
  • Computer and verbal/communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • 3-5 years of work experience

 

Education:

  • BS in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Studies, Industrial Safety and Hygiene, or other related fields.
