Sr. Network Engineer

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Senior Network Engineer will work as part of a global team responsible for the development and support of network management systems deployed across Teradyne's Enterprise network. The position requires a breadth and depth of technical and written/spoken communications skills.  The <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Senior Network Engineer will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Teradyne’s global WAN / LAN network infrastructure for both data and voice communications. The qualified candidate will oversee our global network, enforce LAN/WAN security policy, perform hands-on multi-site network administration, and provide guidance to other network/system engineers.

 

<span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

<span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Proven experience with 10+ years of IT operations with minimal of 6 years of global network management:

  • Aruba Wireless/switches and ClearPass technology experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Helv",sans-serif">Experience dealing with WAN circuit providers, including specification of services, review of SLA and technical specifications, cost analysis.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helv",sans-serif">Experience coordinating implementation of WAN circuits with vendors
  •  Experience managing and configuring Cisco IOS – router & switch ACL & configurations
  •  Experience managing and configuring layer-3 switching and inter-VLAN routing with Cisco and HP switches
  • Experience implementing routing and redundancy protocols; Experience with architecting and designing secure data-center networks that scale
  • Experience with VLANs, Spanning-Tree, LACP, OSPF, VRRP, Multi-Chassis Trunking, Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation
  • Experience with firewall configuration and international site-to-site VPN administration. Knowledge of and experience managing DMVPN preferred.
  • Experience managing and implementing LAN/WAN security (firewall, IPS/IDS)
  • Sound understanding of fiber Channel and iSCSI Channel configuration
  • Sound understanding of WAN Optimization and Virtualization technologies. Specific knowledge Aryaka technologies preferred.
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of firewall configuration and maintenance, experience with SonicWall equipment preferred
  • Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and supporting networking devices,  wireless (WiFi) equipment, computer servers and peripherals
  • Experience in implementing & supporting PBX and voice SIP network. 
  • Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN and firewall appliances.
  • Ability to document and explain network topologies;  understand and diagram existing network; diagram, explain and plan for future upgrades; experience deploying and/or maintaining an enterprise campus network
  • Ability to work independently on fault detection, analysis, & resolution with minimal supervision as a team member and perform network project implementation / deployment as project lead.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and ability to interface with users at all levels of the company across different time zones.

<span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Essential Functions

  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Oversee Teradyne global network infrastructure – design, analyze, implement secure measures in a project-oriented team comprised of both IT and Information Security professionals
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Perform day-to-day network maintenance functions, including WAN/LAN monitoring, configurations,  & network security enforcement
  • Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, aggregators, switches, Wi-Fi controllers, and firewalls.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Research and recommend new network designs and technologies to enhance overall network performance and security
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Monitor & automate global LAN/WAN alert notifications.  Provide reports & trending analysis on voice / data performance, latency, bandwidth utilization with sniffer, network monitoring tools, and NAC
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Develop and document data/voice LAN / WAN topologies, IP schemes, vendor services.
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Cross train peers in network administration & fault resolution skills

<span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Education and Experience

  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">10+ years in IT system and/or network operations
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Minimal 6 years as a network architect designing Enterprise LAN and WAN solutions
  • <span style="font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Desired certifications: CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CISSP
