Teradyne is looking for a RF Field Application Engineer to join our Irvine, CA office!

Basic Qualifications & Skills



  • BS Degree
  • A Solid/proven technical domain understanding of RF testing.
  • 3 years of active Application Engineering in the ATE Industry.   
  • Engage in detailed technical discussion with customer technical personal.
  • Ability to develop project scoping / technical assessment/team assembly.
  • Being able to apply judgment for effective escalation trigger and management  
  • Understand Project management - Schedule management - Risk management - Change management ​
  • RF Experience/Knowledge: Experience with RF techniques related to WLAN and Bluetooth testing (e.g. EVM) and modulation standards related to them.
  • Provide technical advice to help design PCB for high frequency (up to 12 GHz) applications
  • Correlation of device results between RF bench test instrumentations (spectrum analyzer, VNA, etc.) and ATE.
  • Direct experience working with Teradyne's UltraFLEX systems.
  • Strong communication skills, in order to: 
    • communicate effectively to customers 
    • communicate within the team 
    • communicate with sales and (Application) management.  
  • Technical expectation setting/creating trust and confidence 
  • Solid customer handling skills: 
    • Effective expectation setting 
    • Effective escalation management 
    • Relationship building   
    • Must have a ‘Passion to win’
