Director, Global Compensation

The Global Compensation Director will lead the Global Compensation team and contribute to the company's success by leading Teradyne’s global compensation initiatives for 6500+ employees. You will partner with the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management Team, and HR to develop, implement, manage and communicate our Global Compensation strategy. You will provide valuable expertise and strategic guidance on all compensation related matters, lead all annual compensation programs, ensure consistent application and standards of compensation practice, support incentive plans, assess market competitiveness and best practices. An ideal candidate is a thought leader who has 10+ years of compensation experience and has worked closely with an Executive Leadership team. 

In this impactful role you will be an integral part of making Teradyne successful in our ability to attract, retain and motivate people. 


  • Lead the planning and timely execution of the existing compensation policies and practices in the company.
  • Lead annual market assessment to recommend a competitive global budget to the Executive Leadership team for salary and equity compensation processes.
  • Conducts research, analyzes information and data, and presents findings in a clear, concise manner tailored to audience.
  • Builds a network of external sources to monitor existing compensation practices for trends and effectiveness and recommend design options for programs and policies as required.
  • Quarterly Compensation Committee package for Board Members including executive compensation process and working with our outside compensation consultant.
  • Lead change management in support of evolving compensation strategies. 
  • Manage and lead three direct reports.




  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and high attention to detail with large data sets. Ability to draw trends from data and propose creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent PC skills with advanced Excel skills desired.
  • Ability plan and execute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Team player who can effectively interact with multiple working styles and work across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and influence executive level members.
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills including the ability to effectively translate data to varying audiences.
  • Must handle sensitive, confidential matters and situations with maturity and discretion.
  • 10+ years of global compensation experience. 
  • Working knowledge of Radford Global Survey. Knowledgeable about other global survey vendors is a plus. 
  • Previous Success Factors experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation best practices.
