RF/mmWave Hardware Verification Engineering Manager

Organization & Role

Teradyne is looking for an experienced HW Verification Manager with a strong background in analog, microwave, and/or milli-meter wave hardware and product verification. This is a hands-on working manager position leading a team of up to 10 engineers focused on developing custom test hardware and software solutions to verify Teradyne’s state of the art new products. The HW Verification team works closely with product development, the new product introduction team, as well as operations, to successfully bring high quality new products to market.



The HW Verification Manager will be based in North Reading, MA and will lead a group of talented engineers as well as further the engineering innovation, processes, and methods used within the organization.


•    Providing functional management to a team of engineers developing custom hardware and software test solutions.
•    Providing technical expertise in all aspects of hardware and product verification by actively participating in, and mentoring others, in the development of test concepts, detailed test plans and design, custom test hardware design solutions including PCBAs, software development, and other technical process steps.
•    Planning and executing the hardware and product verification aspect of new product development, from concept through production release.
•    Championing the advancement of new test and measurement technologies, setting the long-term technology roadmap for the team, and launching proof of concept initiatives.
•    Ensuring that Teradyne products are meeting functional, performance, and quality requirements.
•    Maintaining and fostering a collaborative cross-functional working environment across all engineering functions, the program management office, as well as marketing and operations.
•    Hiring, mentoring, and motivating team


Basic Qualifications & Skills

•    BSEE required/MSEE preferred.
•    5+ years of direct management experience 
•    Demonstrated experience in the development of high precision analog, microwave, and/or milli-meter wave automated verification test processes and techniques.
•    Experience with C/C++ and/or C# programming. Experience with Agile software development process is preferred. 
•    Full product life cycle experience from concept stage to product release, to manufacturing and customer support is a plus.
•    Strong organizational and project management skills, PMP certification is a plus.
•    Ability to lead and motivate others, communicating vision, setting goals and objectives, monitoring metrics and progress, and empowering the team to be successful.
•    Ability to set clear direction and priorities, organize activities, and lead the team to hit project objectives.
•    Demonstrated experience building and developing high performing teams.
•    Strong ability to work cross-functionally, able to work with others on shared objectives and work quickly and collaboratively to solve problems and overcome challenges.
•    Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at different levels of abstraction and provide periodic updates to senior management and directors.
