The Test Development Team at Teradyne's North Reading, MA headquarters is responsible for developing the test strategy, test equipment, test software, self-test software and procedures for new product introductions.


We are currently seeking a Test Development Engineering Intern/Co-op who will serve as a technical contributor in a test development group. 


The Test Development Engineering Intern/Co-op will be responsible for the following:


  1. Develop and/or improve test processes for Analog, Digital, and/or Optical test equipment including: the test strategy, interface design, ATE, test software, fixturing, software tools, documentation, and process control capabilities.
  2. Integrate new processes into production.
  3. Serve as a technical resource for factory operations.
  4. Investigate and develop more efficient test processes utilizing metrics to indicate results.
  5. Go beyond individual defect investigation & characterization to understanding defect trends in order to influence testing directions.

Test Development plays a key role in the product development processes. The variety of activities in these processes involves a diversity of skills that you won't find in many other entry-level opportunities. The desire to work in teams and address groups with your public speaking skills will be encouraged and fostered. 


Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required



The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Have knowledge of C / C++/ C#, Lab View / Lab Windows CVI / Agilent VEE / .NET framework
  • Proficient with MS office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Have effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Prior Teradyne Coop / Intern experience preferred 


Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. 


Relocation assistance has not been approved for this position. Candidates must be available to be on-site in North Reading, MA. This co-op will begin in January 2023.
