Thermal Mechanical Engineering Coop - Summer - Fall 2022

The Teradyne Thermal Design team is seeking a driven Thermal Co-op to contribute to a dynamic, cross-functional group that develops creative solutions to complex component and system level thermal challenges.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Performing thermal experiments on PC boards to verify cooling designs, design of appropriate heat-sink solutions, design and execute verification plans to ensure successful integration into the product.
  • You may be designing/building mockups and test sections for wind-tunnel evaluation.
  • You may work with liquid piping, cooling and pumping systems as well as sheet metal and machined part design.
  • Excellent hands-on, communication and team work skills required.

 

Education

 

  • Working toward a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Junior or senior status required
  • GPA of 3.5/4.0 or higher
  • Must be available to commute to and work on site at our North Reading, MA campus

 

Required Skills

 

  • Will have successfully completed heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Keen interest in heat transfer
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or on a team
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, CFD
  • Comfortable working with basic shop tools and prototypes
  • Related engineering experience or co-op work a plus

 

Must be available for full cycle coop, prefer start during the summer  - Co-op is for Summer-Fall 2022 in North Reading, MA
