Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work together with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ from his own business.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility, expect accountability and provide regular feedback.
  • Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Foster open communication through department meetings, one-on-one meetings and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication.
  • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, financial responsibilities and activities of the department.
  • Plan and implement a strategy that meet the goals of the department efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage and allocate resources to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
  • Plan and assess, the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Review performance data that includes financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Weekly communication with another managers in CR



Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required



  • Graduate in engineering with at least 2 years of completed experience in Teradyne.
  • English and Spanish writing and reading are required.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, leading projects to conclusion and processes implementation is required.
  • Deep understanding of the products and processes.
  • Must have the ability to manage a group between 15-20 technical professionals
  • Strong leadership skills and flexibility in dealing with people.
  • Good communication skills and can relate well with people.
  • Must be objective and mature enough to handle conflicts and provide coaching when needed
