Senior Account Manager for Military/ Aerospace / Defense

Are you ready to make a change?  Teradyne's Military / Aerospace division is hiring for a Sales Engineer.    You will be assigned to developing and managing Solutions-Based Sales involving Performance Instrumentation, Systems, Software and Services to Prime Contractors to the DoD.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Selling and positioning Teradyne products and services directly to a major accounts that are Prime Contractors to the Department of Defense.
  • Maintaining existing and establishing new strong/solid relationships with customers.
  • Managing support activities and delivery schedules associated with the assigned accounts often on multi-year projects.
  • Executing and managing the competitive sales process as a team leader.
  • Create and lead implementation of individual sales strategies using team strategic tools to gain market share within assigned accounts.
  • Communicating and integrating account strategy with support, program management and divisional organizations.
  • Prospecting and qualifying new business opportunities for existing and new products.
  • Organize and lead responses to competitive Request for Quotes
  • Participate in negotiating complex Statement of Work documents.
  • Managing and interpreting customer (technical and business) related requirements.
  • Supply technical data and business related information to existing and prospective customers.
  • Providing quotations for products and services and may lead the negotiation process.
  • Coordinating and hosting customers meetings at Teradyne sites and customer locations.
  • Develops and implements strategy for gaining market share in accounts via DoD Program break-ins.
  • Participate and lead the Internal Customer Focus Teams to address customer needs and business objectives.
  • Participate in negotiating contract content including terms and conditions.
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other DoD events.
  • Meeting assigned sales quota and regular sales targets/goals.

 

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required 

 

  • 5-10 years of experience in the military related environment.
  • Ability to hold (technical and business) related conversations about customer requirements and Teradyne products and services.
  •  Ability to multitask and demonstrate time management skills.
  •  Have some familiarity with the military and DoD process including contracting, planning, requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, training and life cycle support.
  •  Must have some experience in electronics production requirements development and management.
  •  Have some knowledge of the different military program offices, their activities, and their interworking.
  •  Be able to communicate effectively with military customers (both verbally and written).
  •  Conduct/analyze military related studies of upgrade and modernization programs, prepare reports and track progress.
  •  Ideally located in the southwestern region of the USA. Ideally near a hub airport as the position requires national travel, one to two nights a week.  A willingness to work remotely and travel upon short notice.   

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, Engineering Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 
  • Additional business or technical degrees preferred.
