Opportunity Overview
The NPI Quality Engineer is a fully qualified engineering professional responsible for embedding robust quality strategies into New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role ensures new products meet customer expectations, regulatory compliance, and internal quality standards across high‑speed photonics and electronic test solutions, including PXIe optical modules, tunable lasers, BERT instruments, optical‑to‑electrical converters, and related platforms.

The role owns and maintains the NPI quality framework, ensuring quality requirements, controls, and review mechanisms are consistently applied across all NPI programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of advanced NPI quality strategies, validation frameworks, and control plans.
  • Own NPI quality gate decision‑making, including pass/fail criteria and escalation of quality risks to senior engineering and management.
  • Develop and validate inspection and test methodologies for high‑speed optical, RF, and precision photonics measurements.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to lead FMEAs, quality risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for new designs.
  • Support and partner with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure production readiness, supplier qualification, and incoming inspection controls.
  • Drive root cause investigations for complex NPI issues using advanced problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., DOE, advanced RCA).
  • Sustain and improve NPI quality best practices to continuously uplift product robustness and organizational quality maturity.
