As a Field Application Engineer, you will be leverage your test engineering skills in an exciting technical and business environment.


  • Maximize your semiconductor ATE experience on cutting edge devices.
  • Develop Teradyne test solutions and support customers directly in a dynamic team working environment.
  • Work with Teradyne's largest customers as an embedded and integrated member of the development team.
  • Share your own knowledge and learn new tools and techniques while working on the latest technology.
  • Devise innovative techniques for characterization and production test of leading edge mmWave, RF and Mixed Signal Devices. 
  • Analyze customer device test requirements and develop device test programs to support customer needs and pre-sales benchmarks.
  • Help to design sophisticated test interface boards connecting Teradyne test instrumentation to the device-under-test. 
  • Develop test programs in Visual Basic, C++ and .Net for mmWave, RF and mixed-signal applications. 
  • Analyze test data and optimize the test environment for accuracy and repeatability. 
  • Correlate test data with customer internal test results to make sure the test method and conditions are correct.
  • Reproduce customer problems for software/hardware engineering to correct and provide interim solutions to keep our customers’ production flowing. 
  • Provide direct customer support for design, test, product, and manufacturing engineers. 
  • Develop your organizational and project management skills to maintain and oversee the delivery of critical test program development milestones. 





  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field and work experience in the job offered or related field of semiconductor Automatic Test Equipment.  
  • Must have at least two years of experience with Automated Test Equipment that delivers precise, highly reliable and cost-effective test solutions for complex System-on-Chip (SoC) devices that are built for mobile applications or other RF applications. 
  • Must have at least one year of experience with semiconductor device test; knowledge of RF or Mixed-Signal theories and tests; working understanding of device interface board (DIB) design and layout; experience with software development, ideally Visual Basic (VB), .Net and C; good basic software and hardware debug skills. 
  • Must be able and willing to travel internationally up to 15% of time.
