Organization & Role

This open position is for the role of circuit design hardware engineering manager.  This person will be responsible for managing, guiding, and growing the team that develops the instruments that make up the heart of our product.  Focus areas include high speed digital design, power supply instruments, and support electronics.  We also work with internal and external partners to develop ASICs to support our product so an important role would also include working with such partners on specifications for these critical components.

Responsibilities

•    Determining staffing levels and skills needed to satisfy all product development commitments
•    Ensuring products meet key requirements are on budget and schedule
•    Negotiating deliverables with key partners and customers
•    Establish and maintain a collaborative working environment across functional groups
•    Establish and maintain engineering development processes throughout the product lifecycle stages

Basic Qualifications & Skills

 

Managerial and leadership experience

•    Must be capable of developing current teams while helping to grow the engineering organization as our business continues to expand
•    Should have experience working with multiple engineering disciplines including:
•     Circuit Design, PCB Design, Interfacing to ASIC/FPGA, Mechanical, Reliability, Embedded Systems, and Signal Delivery
•    Must have the capability to manage multiple development teams and projects
•    Must be a strategic thinker with strong analytical and tactical skills
•    Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

 

Leadership & Management Behavioral Competencies:
•    Solicits the involvement of others to build a sense of ownership
•    Must have the confidence to act quickly and decisively when the market requires such agility
•    Ability to organize activities and lead others in accomplishing goals and objectives
•    Work with employees, customers and outside organizations in a professional manner

Prior experience with ATE, test and measurement, or related field is highly desirable.

•    Ability to travel as required

 

Personal Characteristics:

•    Ability to establish internal credibility with peer managers and senior engineers, as well as marketing and operations teams
•    Ability to understand operational requirements of the business and identify opportunities and solutions
 

Education

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
