Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Spring 2023

The intern will have the opportunity to gain exposure in the following areas:




  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews through New Product Introduction process
  • Define Manufacturing process specifications and design.
  • Develop and implement new procedures
  • Humanize production equipment though ergonomic and safety considerations
  • Develop Manufacturing Process Strategy for outsourced products
  • Manufacturing fixture design including all fixture design related validations, build, documentation, and handoff to high volume production
  • Provide capital equipment investment analysis
  • Conduct capacity planning and analysis
  • Determine facility layouts for effective workflow
  • Creating and Implementing Engineering Change Notices to update BOMs and drawings
  • Monitor and drive quality improvement at suppliers and internally



Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education:


  • Working towards a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Experience with CAD applications and preferably experience with SolidWorks
  • Must have analytical and mature thinking, organized, team player with a high sense of urgency
  • Must be able to find creative ways to solve problems
  • Recognition of when a problem must be escalated is critical
  • Must be an extremely motivated individual.
  • Flexible to work with global suppliers with multiple time zones
  • Location in San Jose, CA. Must be able to work on-site.
  • Ideal start date is January 2023 with a duration of 6 months
