Organization & Role

The Teradyne Production Support team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Field Service Engineer who is:

  • Proven to be effective in consistently applying technical knowledge in achieving major cost reduction or productivity breakthrough for Department or customers.
  • Proven to be effective in working with engineers, customers, and factory on escalated issues or improvement work.

within the Semiconductor Test division.

This individual will report directly to the Production Support Team Lead in Korea.


  • Assist in identifying gaps in performance, resource development and work processes and provide improvement strategies and execution support.
  • Act as a local Expert in helping field engineers and customers to resolve technical or field problems.
  • Actively promote the use and benefits of e-Support/e-Knowledge/remote support both within the company and with customers.
  • Able to identify issues that require escalation using established processes.
  • Uphold Teradyne and respect customer core values at all times.
  • Install and maintain all Teradyne ATE systems.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • A role model in applying and developing structured approach to problem solving.
  • Sharing of best practices in the regional field team.
  • Effective in influencing customers, factory and Sales management with correct and up to date information in his decision making and capable of making best decision under situational constraints.
  • Resourceful in problem resolution and possess good communication skill to integrate with customers and Teradyne extended team members.
  • May be called upon to apply appropriate management style to meet the needs of different situational requirements (e.g. during crisis versus normal times)
  • Basic software troubleshooting skills (example: PCFD)
  • Provides solutions to a wide range of new and undocumented technical and work processes problems across WW accounts or regional field goals.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skill that requires complex analysis of undefined problems where symptoms are not clear and require identification and coordination of problem resolution and resources in multiple functions, locations or discipline (Customers, Cross-functional field team and Factory).
  • Identifies, defines and lead cross- functional team to solve complex problem (new and undocumented) in the region/country and isolates the underlying causes. Identifies and utilizes the correct techniques to solve the problem in a timely manner.
  • Key player in training class instructor pool.
  • Able to make travel to assist WW teams on an extended period. 


  • BSEE or MSEE in Electrical / Electrical Engineering
  • 5~10 years of experience in related field
