Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Senior Machine Vision Software Architect to lead the architecture, design, and development of advanced machine vision solutions for semiconductor automated test and inspection systems. This role will define the technical vision for next-generation platforms supporting high-precision defect inspection, alignment, metrology, and process control at both wafer and package levels. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in computer vision, software architecture, semiconductor test systems, and optical inspection technologies while collaborating across software, hardware, optics, systems engineering, and product management teams.
- Lead the software architecture for machine vision and image processing systems used in semiconductor test and inspection applications.
- Develop and optimize advanced algorithms for defect detection, pattern recognition, alignment, and sub-micron metrology.
- Collaborate with optical, mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to develop robust end-to-end solutions.
- Build scalable software frameworks, coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices that support performance and maintainability.
- Support system validation, performance characterization, customer deployments, and continuous product improvement.
- Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to translate application requirements into innovative technical solutions.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- 12+ years of software development experience, including significant experience architecting and delivering complex machine vision or image processing systems.
- Proven success leading the design and deployment of production-grade software for instrumentation, industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, or related industries.
- Extensive experience developing high-performance software in C#, C++, and Python.
- Strong expertise in computer vision, image processing, inspection, alignment, and precision metrology algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with machine vision frameworks and libraries such as OpenCV, Halcon, Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, object-oriented design, multithreaded programming, and system-level integration.
- Experience integrating cameras, optics, illumination systems, motion control, and data acquisition hardware.
- Familiarity with high-throughput, real-time image processing architectures and GPU-accelerated computing.
- Excellent communication, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to software engineering teams.
We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $192,700 - $308,300. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
