Student Worker - Connectivity Team
Odense, DK
Join Teradyne Robotics and shape the future of automation
Are you ready to make a real impact on the world of robotics? At Teradyne Robotics, a division of Teradyne, we are revolutionizing industries through cutting-edge collaborative and autonomous mobile robotic technologies. As part of our team, you’ll work with global leaders Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), driving innovation that enhances manufacturing, logistics and workplaces across the world.
About the role
As a student worker, you'll become part of a welcoming, cross-functional team that designs and develops the interfaces between UR robots and the factory floor. Our mission is to make robot integration significantly easier and more accessible - reducing complexity and empowering customers to build smarter workcells.
Day to day, you may contribute to areas such as:
- Developing and evolving URScript, the programming language that brings our robots to life
- Working with communication interfaces - from Modbus and Profinet/EthernetIP to RTDE, ROS2, and OPC/UA
- Exploring next-generation fieldbus technologies and modern protocols like MQTT
- Supporting workcell coordination features that help UR robots become the centre of the factory floor - reducing the need for external PLCs and additional equipment
- Collaborating with other teams on containerisation and open-source platforms to help integrators and third-party developers create better solutions
We believe great work comes from shared knowledge and diverse perspectives. Our team values use-case-driven development, cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous feedback from real users - a feature is only done when it makes a real difference to the people who use it.
About the environment
You'll join our R&D department in Odense, Denmark - a diverse, international community of around 160 creative people working at the forefront of collaborative robotics. Together, we develop innovative solutions to some of the most meaningful manufacturing challenges businesses face today. We foster an inclusive atmosphere where every voice matters and different perspectives strengthen our work.
What we're looking for
We welcome candidates who are building skills in some of the following areas - you don't need to tick every box:
- Experience with or interest in C/C++ programming (embedded or general)
- Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
- Curiosity about robot system integration, industrial protocols (e.g. Profinet, EthernetIP, Modbus), or PLC concepts
- Some exposure to Git, CI/CD pipelines, or modern development workflows
- Comfortable working in English, both written and spoken - it's our shared team language
Above all, we value a collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn, and genuine curiosity about how technology can make a difference on the factory floor.
With over 1,400 employees in over 30 offices around the world and more than 100,000 advanced robotics systems deployed worldwide, we’re a thriving center of innovation and collaboration.
We offer a dynamic environment that fosters creativity, growth, and career advancement. If you’re passionate about cutting-edge technology, solving complex challenges, and building the future alongside talented, forward-thinking colleagues—this is the place for you. Let’s change the way the world works together.
