Opportunity Overview
Product Manager — Defense & Aerospace Business Unit (Hybrid)
Teradyne’s Defense & Aerospace Business Unit is seeking an experienced Product Manager to drive the success of our Automatic Test Equipment and Services business. In this role, you will own product strategy and lifecycle management while partnering cross-functionally to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives. You will translate market signals into clear roadmaps, enable go-to-market execution, and help ensure operational readiness across the product portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead product strategy: Define and implement a comprehensive product strategy that supports both short- and long-term business success.
- Develop and drive lifecycle management: Lead product lines from new product introduction through end-of-life, including configuration, pricing, and production transitions.
- Analyze market trends: Identify global market trends, adjacent opportunities, and competitive positioning to inform go-to-market plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Sales, and Support teams to align products with customer needs and market trends.
- Partner with customers and sales: Serve as a subject-matter expert in test applications, competitive alternatives, and customer requirements; support key opportunities and manage customer-facing activities such as proposals and pricing.
- Ensure forecasting and reporting: Manage the business forecast, synthesize market and business results, and support business reviews and inventory decisions.
- Build enablement and collateral: Create and maintain supporting materials including competitive differentiation, pricing strategy, and sales collateral.
- Sustain continuous improvement: Identify product management and marketing process improvements and enabling technologies to increase productivity and decision-making efficiency.

- Minimum education or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum depth of experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or a related technical role.
- Primary experience needed for role: Product development, manufacturing integration, and customer support.
- Primary skill needed for role: Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive outcomes without direct authority.
- Secondary skill needed for role: Strong analytical skills (forecasting, market analysis, business reporting).
- Additional skill needed for role: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
- Additional experience/skills needed for role: Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
- Preference for role #1: MBA or equivalent advanced management education.
- Preference for role #2: Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry; familiarity with PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics tools.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $139,400-$223,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
